As foretold by Nostradamus... So why didn't I listen?

Ahhhhh, February the first. A whole new month to see if it all goes downhill from here. Well let me start from the beginning.

In December the month, and year for that matter, had ended badly. I was in the hospital the week before christmas, and the day after christmas I had to put my faithful pup to sleep. All in all, a bad ending to a roughly bad year.

Now January comes rolling in with brand new hopes for a brand new year. Resolutions are made the night before sealed with a loving kiss to make sure that the year starts out good. And it does... for the first few weeks. Then on the third week of January, our dryer decides to crap out on us. (And yes that is a wire that the clothes managed to pulled from back of the machine through the gap when the drum it lost alignment. And all that lint build up next to the lint trap is actually the chewed-up insulation which the drum rotated on the back plate.) Great! Now we have to fork out 300+ bucks for a new one, and in the meantime we do our wash at home and haul it to a laundromat for drying. Sure I could do my laundry at the mat, but then it would cost far more than the 5 bucks it cost to dry what we washed at home. Its no wonder laundromats make the coin. Could it get any worse...

Sure it could. Come January 31st I find out at the end of my shift that myself and six other people are being laid-off due to diminishing work loads. So we give our final good-byes, do a quick exit survey on what we thought of the place and head on home. So now, we don't have the extra income to afford a new dryer and we are up the proverbial creek without said paddle. By the gods, when it rains it bloody pours.

Now that February has reared it freezing head, I do have a little bit of good news. I have an interview this weekend for possible employment. This couldn't have come at a better time. Unfortunately, I have a strong feeling that it won't be paying me what I was making at the previous employment, but as long as it is income, I'll be quite happy. So I certainly hope this does pan out, cause we really need this income. Things are getting extremely tight, and we are at the point of the only thing that we have left to turn off is the utilities. And the thought of that is very unappealing. So here's to hoping for the best. Oy!

Well when I get into this kind of slump, I usually sit back and listen to music to lift my spirits. And here's a little tune that always manages to bring a smile to my face cause it always brings me back to a moment in my life that everything was pretty damn good. Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by and listen to me bitch, moan, and gripe. Feel free to drop a note at the bottom of the page if you like. Its great to hear from readers. Feel free to throw in some of your gripes as well. Its always good to share, even if to just vent. Peace and bright blessings to each and everyone of you! Nighters.
